The General Image Manipulation Program
What is The GIMP?
- A high-performance, high-quality, free image manipulation program
for Unix/X-Windows.
- Similar in many ways to well known commercial packages like Adobe
Photoshop (tm), Fractal
Design Painter (tm) and ImageFX
(tm).
- Powerful and simple API for programmers wanting to contribute
code ("plug-ins"). As I'm writing this, there's over 70 finished
plug-ins and several more in the works.
