Envision

Envision is a software package for the storage, management, manipulation, and display of large multi-dimensional arrays of numerical data. Usually these are data sets from science or engineering applications, and they may be observations or instrument measurements, or output from numerical models. The Envision software package ...

  • Integrates scientific data management, analysis, and visualization in an interactive environment,
  • Runs on most UNIX workstations using X/Motif, C language, and interprocess communication,
  • Uses gridded data in HDF and netCDF files,
  • Connects with IDL, NCSA Collage, and NCSA XDataSlice.
However, Envision has been an inactive project since July, 1994, and is no longer supported.
