Maxima

MACSYMA (Project MAC's SYmbolic MAnipulation System) is a large computer algebra system for symbolic and numerical computations. Originally MACSYMA was developed by the MATH lab group at M.I.T. MAXIMA is a GCL (GNU Common Lisp) implementation. Patches for running it in CMUCL (CMU Common Lisp) are available. X Windows interface (xmaxima) is also available from home site.
