Supernova 2009as and 2009gb in ESO 447-G37

This page is devoted to information on Supernova 2009as and Supernova 2009gb in ESO 447-G37.   Basic information on this SN, including the last reported brightness, on this Supernova can be found on the main page.  Information on the original web pages for many of these images can be found on the updates and links web pages.

image Both supernovae 2009as and 2009gb were discovered by CHASE (Chili).   Both are type Ia.   We have a DSS Photometry reference image made by Odd Trondal.  Icons generated from the discovery images.
image 3 months after the the discovery of 2009as CHASE discovered 2009gb in the same galaxy.   At this point 2009as was dim, but still there.   Double supernovae are rare, but the number has been increasing in recent years as more followup observing is being done.   These supernova are in the Constellation Centaurus.

The following is a list of images of this SN, in chronological order. Click on the name in the "Image Credit" column to see the image. Times and dates are in UT unless otherwise noted. If you know of any others, please tell me!
