Both supernovae 2009as
and 2009gb were discovered by
CHASE (Chili).
Both are type Ia.
We have a DSS Photometry reference image made by Odd Trondal.

3 months after the the discovery of
2009asCHASE discovered
2009gb in the same galaxy.
At this point 2009as was dim, but
still there.
Double supernovae are rare, but
the number has been increasing in recent years as more followup observing
is being done.
These supernova are in the
Constellation Centaurus.
