Maybe you didn't know but there's an option where you can choose swap disk for Photoshop. It's located in Edit>Preferences>Memory menu. Naturally I recommend using faster disk as primary swap drive. For example you have fast SCSI-2 drive as D: that has 20Mb/sec transfer rate. Of course, set it as primary swap drive instead of 2Mb/sec C: drive. One more thing - if you have alot of memory, 1 Gb for example, you can create 900 Mb RAM disk on startup of your OS and then use it as primary swap drive. It speeds up the whole thing a little.
