XFDTD

XFDTD is an user-friendly 3-d Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) software for making electromagnetics calculations for industry, government, and universities. XFDTD software is extremely general, with applications including antenna impedance and radiation, scattering, biological effects including SAR, microstrip, electromagnetic compatibility and shielding, and many others. A wide variety of materials are considered, including lossy anisotropic dielectric and magnetized ferrites.

Some of the features of XFDTD include;

  • Interactive mesh generation and modification
  • Calculation parameters set with menus
  • Visualization of fields using color intensity
  • Near-zone and far-zone EM fields
  • Antenna impedance versus frequency
  • Antenna gain patterns
  • Biological effects of EM including SAR
  • Electromagnetic scattering and RCS
