Starlink Software Collection

Starlink's primary purpose is to provide interactive data processing facilities for UK astronomers. The data are mainly observational data, obtained from both satellite and ground-based instruments. The visualisation of theoretical data obtained from supercomputers is also supported.

The available packages are:

  • CCDPACK -- CCD data reduction package
  • CONVERT -- data format conversion package
  • CURSA -- catalogue and table manipulation package
  • DAOPHOT -- a stellar photometry package
  • DIPSO -- a friendly spectrum analysis program
  • ECHOMOP -- Echelle data reduction package
  • ECHWIND -- UCL Echelle spectrograph observation planning
  • FIGARO -- general data reduction and spectroscopy package
  • GAIA -- Graphical Astronomy and Image Analysis Tool
  • IRAFFIG -- FIGARO for IRAF
  • IRCAMPACK -- IRCAM data reduction package
  • IUEDR -- IUE (International Ultraviolet Explorer) data reduction package
  • PERIOD -- time series analysis
  • PHOTOM -- aperture photometry package
  • PISA -- Position, Intensity and Shape Analysis package
  • POLMAP -- Interactive Spectropolarimetry data analysis
  • PONGO -- Interactive plotting program
  • SAOIMAGE -- Astronomical Image display
  • SPECDRE -- Spectroscopy data reduction
  • SPECX -- Millimetre-wave spectral data reduction
  • TPOINT -- telescope pointing analysis system
  • TSP -- Time series and Polarimetry package
