OPACS

OPACS is a visualization environment based on X window developped at LAL (Orsay, France). It is born in the HEP (High Energy Physic) environment to ease the writting of "Event display" programs. One of the main component is the Wo package. Wo is a widget manager. It permits to create interpreted Xt widget hierachies. Some widget sets could be declared to Wo. By default no one is required to reconstruct OPACS. Motif widget set is the mostly used one. The free widget set Athena (or Xaw) could also be used. The hierarchies of widget could be built and modified interactively. The hierarchies are saved in ascii text file called "odb" files. Then they could be modified with a classical text editor.
