Marvin

Marvin is a collection of Java tools for drawing and displaying chemical structures and substructures. It includes:

  • Marvin Applets -- created for the Web Developer who builds chemical Internet/Intranet sites.
  • Marvin Beans -- made for the Software Developer to incorporate molecule drawing or visualizing capabilities into a Java application. The package contains MarvinSketch and MarvinView as JavaBeans.
  • MarvinSketch and MarvinView -- applications for the Chemist or anyone else who wants to draw or view chemical structures. The current release does not have an installer. The MarvinView application is a preview release, the program is still under development.
Marvin can handle molecules in various file formats including MDL mol, Compressed mol, unique SMILES, SMARTS, Sybyl mol, PDB, CML, XYZ, POV-Ray.
