INSPIRE
INSPIRE(A VHDL Simulation Environment with INcremental Analysis/Elaboration, SPecialized Functions, and Incremental Waveform REgeneration) is a set of tools that are needed to simulate VHDL descriptions. It includes as base tools a VHDL compiler, a waveform analyzer, and a VHDL source level debugger. The VHDL compiler takes VHDL intermediate forms as input rather than VHDL source codes. The intermediate form is generated by a VHDL analyzer which is included in VDT (VHDL Developer's Toolkit). VDT provides a C++ procedural interface that is used to maintain the intermediate form. The VHDL analyzer in VDT and the VHDL compiler in INSPIRE are developed by using this procedural interface. Therefore the VHDL analyzer in VDT in essential for execution of the VHDL compiler in INSPIRE.
