Essentia

InterSoft Essentia is a database server developed with the revolutionary new technology known as RISE. While other databases compete in size and complexity, Essentia emphasizes simplicity, utility and power. RISE (Reduced Instruction Set Engine) is a concept analogous to that of the RISC technology for microprocessors. The basic idea is to have a server (the engine) provide a number of services to client processes. Some examples of servers are: window managers, communication servers, and database servers.
