lpe Lpe is a very lightweight editor designed for programming but usable for plenty of other things. Its characteristic trademarks are an almost complete lack of extraneous "flashy" features, a unique "edit the source code" method of customization, and a minimalist feel that I find very appealing. It's also designed to run on a very wide variety of terminal types without glitches and be as robust as possible. And if you're into distribution disks, the stripped binary is less than 20K in size. Lpe supports localized messages in either English or Russian as a compile-time option, and translations to other languages are really easy to do and are being actively solicited.
