XTL The XTL (Externalization Template Library) is a C++ library for reading/writing structured data to/from an external (platform independent) representation. Besides the usual C data types it also supports C++ constructs, such as pointers to base classes and template types (namely STL containers). It can read/write XDR and CORBA CDR formats. The API is somewhat modeled on the original XDR library by Sun, however, heavy usage of templates and inline functions makes it faster, simpler and type-safe.
