PAMELA

The PAMELA (PerformAnce ModEling LAnguage) project aims at the development of a modeling methodology that yields fast, parameterized performance models of parallel programs running on shared-memory as well as distributed-memory (vector) machines. This new performance modeling language supports a procedure-oriented modeling paradigm. First the application and machine are modeled in terms of a PAMELA source description. Rather than just simulating the source model, a novel compile-time analysis method is employed through which a PAMELA model is automatically compiled into an explicit analytical performance model.
