optimizer optimizer optimizes GCC/G++ assembler code to run with Pentium and Pentium Pro instructions with or without MMX instructions (Pentium MMX and Pentium II). optimizer uses either GAS (not very easy to read) or NASM (very readable) to produce the new optimized assembler files, therefore the newest versions of these programs is needed.
