MzScheme

MzScheme (pronounced "Ms. Scheme") is a Scheme implementation, and is fully R4RS-compilant (including the full numerical tower), and also provides:

  • Pre-emptive threads for all platforms
  • Generative structures (a.k.a. record datatypes)
  • A system for exceptions, where all primitive errors raise a specific exception
  • First-class compilation units for organizing program components
  • A class-based object system reminiscent of C++
  • Built-in regular expression matching tools
  • Simple TCP communication support on all platforms
  • Portable filesystem access and process control commands
