ESO-MIDAS
The ESO-MIDAS (European Southern Observatory Munich Image Data Analysis
System) system provides general tools for image processing and data
reduction with emphasis on astronomical applications including imaging
and special reduction packages for ESO instrumentation at La Silla. In
addition it contains applications packages for stellar and surface
photometry, image sharpening and decomposition, statistics and various
others.
In addition to the application programs the ESO-MIDAS system further
contains:
- a powerful command language (MCL, MIDAS Control Language), that
make it possible to create procedures;
- the program interface, i.e. a set of subroutines/functions which
is
used by the application programs to interface hardware, or data
ESO-MIDAS is written by the MIDAS Group of the European Southern
Observatory (ESO) in Garching bei Munchen, Germany.
ESO-MIDAS is available on the
special ESO-MIDAS CD-ROM and also included on the
Linux for Astronomy
CD-ROM
