X/RTA Real Time Analyzer for X

X/RTA is a constant percentage bandwidth real time analyzer for acoustical measurements. It uses digital filters to do octave band and fractional octave band filtering of the audio spectrum.

The signal processing unit is written in C. The interface is written in Tcl/Tk, with the Blt toolkit. As Tcl is a scripting language, this makes the creation of sequences of tests straightforward.

With X/RTA you can perform octave, third octave, and sixth octave analysis with A and C-weighted SPL, save and recall data files, and print data (using gs or ghostview). Thus you can measure and tune a home theatre, commercial cinema, hi-fi, public address system, etc.
