Ptool PTool is a software tool providing persistence for data. It supports the creation, storing, accessing and querying of complex objects. It is designed for high-performance access to data and to scale, as both the amount of data and the complexity of queries increase. Since PTool does not have the overhead of a general purpose object oriented database, it is particularly well suited for applications requiring high - performance access to historical data. Since it is designed to query data distributed in a hierarchical storage system, it is also well suited for data mining applications. Finally, since it is designed to query data in a multi-computer environment, it is well suited for applications requiring numerically intensive queries.
