ARCH

ARCH is an object-oriented library of tools for (asynchronous and loosely synchronous system) parallel programming on machines using the MPI communication library. It offers a set of flexible programming constructs for parallel software development for asynchronous and loosely synchronous system programming, creating the illusion of shared memory on distributed memory machines. ARCH allows the distribution of arrays as well as user-defined data structures such as pointers to remote data.

ARCH is object-oriented, meaning that the library:

  • has been developed with C++,
  • consists in a set of distributed template types dedicated to concurrent and parallel program writing,
  • favors a type-based approach for parallel program development.
