SHAPES

The SHAPES Geometric Computing System is a revolutionary software tool that uniquely satisfies the geometry requirements of applications that span many industries. These include finite element analysis, mechanical design, geophysical analysis, animation, and medical imaging.

SHAPES is configured as a set of class libraries and is used in a manner similar to graphics and numerical math packages. By eliminating the need to develop geometric data structures and algorithms, the software developer is free to focus on application-specific solutions built using SHAPES tools. The reduction in development time of geometry-based applications is enormous. For example, a complete engineering prototype was developed in 2 weeks by a single programmer. In addition, SHAPES is easy to maintain and, because of its ability to incorporate new technology, presents a stable long-term core platform for application developers.
