Gstat

Gstat is a computer program for multivariable geostatistical modeling, prediction, and simulation of variables in 1, 2 or 3 dimensions. The main features of Gstat are: * sample variogram, covariogram or cross (co)variogram calculation and fitting of nested models, interactively or non-interactively; * ordinary kriging, simple kriging, multivariable universal kriging with arbitrary base functions, conditional and unconditional simulation; * block predictions for rectangular blocks or arbitrarily shaped blocks; * Gaussian simulation of block averages conditioned on point observations; * pooled variogram estimation and variogram maps; * a concise, intuitive command language that allows batch processing and eases documentation interactive variogram and covariogram modeling menu; * reading and writing maps in the raster-based GIS PCRaster; * reading observations, prediction locations, and base function values for universal kriging or category numbers for stratified kriging; * writing maps with predictions, simulated values, error variances, and error covariances; and * optionally ascii input and output (independent from GIS formats).
