ASSOCIATED SYMPOSIUM 3

Spectrophotometric and Photometric Catalogues. Standard Stars and Solar Analogs

June 5-8, 2000, St.-Petersburg, Russia
JENAM logo

The Symposium is open to all astrophysicists specialized in the field of the creation and investigation spectrophotometric and photometric star catalogues in the UV, visual and IR ranges. Standards used in spectrophotometric and photometric observations, methods of reduction and astrophysical results obtained by means of spectrophotometry and photometry will be discussed The Sun is the only star for which almost all fundamental physical parameters are known with good accuracy. However the Sun is too bright for direct comparison with stars using identical observational techniques. So the problem of the search for solar analogs as well as study of the place of the Sun among the stars will be discussed also.

The Symposium will be organized by the Sternberg Astronomical Institute of Moscow State Lomonosov University and Pulkovo Observatory of the Academy of Science of Russia. Invited 30-35 min talks, oral 15-20 min presentations and poster session are planned.
