Dear Colleagues,

The Sternberg Astronomical Institute of Lomonosov Moscow State University (SAI MSU) and 
the Euro-Asian Astronomical Society (EAAS) are organizing an International Astrophysical Conference 
"Ideas of S.B. Pikelner and S.A. Kaplan and Modern Astrophysics", in commemoration of 100-year anniversaries 
of the renowned Soviet astrophysicists S.B. Pikelner  (1921-1975) and S.A. Kaplan (1921-1978).

Dates of the conference:
The conference will be held on February 8 - 12, 2021.
Conference venue:
Moscow, SAI MSU.
Conference languages:
Russian, English.

The conference's preliminary topics are the following:
(1)	Magnetic fields in space
(2)	Solar activity
(3)	Physics of the interstellar medium
(4)	Space electrodynamics
(5)	Structure of the Galaxy
(6)	Cosmogony and cosmology
(7)     Physical processes on stars.
(8)     Exoplanets.

Preliminary schedule of the conference:

Arrivals - February 7;
Scientific program - February 8-12;
Departures - February 13.

We are planning to reserve, for non-Moscow participants, a limited number of rooms in the MSU dormitory.
Rules and deadlines for application will be announced later. Participants can also book accommodation
in Moscow hotels by themselves.

The conference registration fee is Rub. 3000; for EAAS members (with membership fees paid):
Rub. 1500; for young participants (younger than 25): Rub. 1000. 

We are studying possibilities of arranging participation also in the remote mode.

We invite you and your colleagues to take part in the Conference.

You are kindly requested to send your conference registration in an e-mail to: kp2021@sai.msu.ru,  boch@sai.msu.ru 

Necessary information:
1. Family name, given name (complete)
2. Affiliation (official name),city, country
3. Participation in projects supported by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (this information is needed 
   because we are planning to apply for an RFBR grant to support the conference)
4. Do you need reimbursement of your fare to the conference (possible for some of the authors of invited 
   and oral talks provided we get the RFBR grant)?
5. Information about your presentation (for each talk):
(a) Preliminary title
(b) Author(s) of the talk
(c) Who will present the talk
(d) Category of the talk (Invited/Oral/Poster)
(e) Number in the list of the conference topics (1- 7 in the above list of topics, comma-separated)

Remarks: 
- the final decision on the talk category  and on the topic will be taken by the SOC;
 - the final decision concerning reimbursement will be taken by the SOC provided that we get funding from the RFBR.

CONFERENCE APPLICATIONS SHOULD BE SENT TILL NOVEMBER 15, 2020

We will confirm the receipt of each registration e-mail message.

Presentation abstract can be sent later, till January 15, 2021.
They should have WinWord format; the rules for the abstracts will be presented at the conference web site 
(see the address below). 
The acknowledgement of the RFBR grant supporting the work is strongly anticipated in your abstract.

The abstracts and the conference program will be published before the conference. 
We are studying possibilities to publish Conference proceedings in a journal from the Scopus and/or WoS lists.
